SENA: How Do We Capitalize On Environmental Awareness To Accelerate Growth?
Date/Time: Monday, March 14, 2022 2:45 PM – 3:45 PM EDT
Many consumers plans to live more healthily and sustainably when imagining a post-pandemic future, and are increasingly aware of their impact on the environment; specifically the impact of their consumption habits on environmental health. This is true for seafood consumers as well, with data showing consumers want more sustainable options. Behaviours like shopping responsibly and avoiding products that are bad for the environment are linked with desires for healthy living, exercise, and eating well.
Consumers also demonstrated the importance of seafood to them and their families during a year of lockdowns and quarantines in 2020 and 2021 with record sales of seafood. How can we leverage a consumer shift in awareness and desire to shop better for themselves and for the planet and move the sustainable seafood industry forward?
The session includes a presentation of recent consumer data by research consultancy GlobeScan, and a panel discussion with Amazon Fresh, McDonald’s and Seafood Nutrition Partnership who are working hard to make sustainable seafood an easy option for consumers.
You’ll hear from:
Moderator: Erika Feller, Americas Regional Director, MSC
Presenter: Christine LaMontagne, Associate Director, GlobeScan
Panellists:
- Jason Cervone, Director of Sourcing – Global Fish, North American Pork, and Consolidated Raw Material Procurement, McDonald’s
