Sea Shepherd State of Ocean Brifing

Beginning at 9 am, the half-day session at a centrally located Washington DC hotel will include Sea Shepherd’s captains, crew members, scientists, Mexican Ambassador to the US Esteban Moctezuma, world-renowned vaquita porpoise expert Dr Barbara Taylor, and more. Sessions will focus on:
- Our 10-year-long campaign to protect the Vaquita porpoise in the Upper Gulf of California.
- A deep dive on the 2024 Vaquita Survey which took place in May 2024.
- Our long-running campaigns to study and help protect Cuvier’s beaked and humpback whales off Guadalupe Island and the Revillagigedo Archipelago
- Our Stop The Grind campaign north of Scotland to end the killing of pilot whales and whited-sided dolphins in the Faroe Islands
- Our campaigns currently under development to defend loggerhead turtles in the Gulf of Ulloa and grouper in Bajos del Norte.
- Our partnership with Sea Shepherd Global to protect the krill population of Antarctica from plundering by industrial trawlers.
